another one of the happy things about food stands in bangkok is the availability of fruit! I really should take a picture of the typical fruit vendor: his cart is a glass ice box (so you can see what fruit is available), usually with pineapple, rose apples, guava, green papaya, and watermelon. whichever fruit you choose is promptly plucked out of the box, chopped up into bite size pieces, thrown into a small plastic bag and given to you with a wooden skewer to eat with. there is also a container of this salt & spice combination that many thais like to sprinkle on top. all for 10 baht.

consequence: I’ve eaten much more fruit here in my first week than I have in 5 months in hong kong.
